It's small and it's simplistic, but maybe for the time you are compiling your list, you'll forget about the bad going on and focus on something good.

1) I did well on my first two midterms.

3) I am really enjoying my classes, and university, in general.

The move is complete! Yay! Met my roommates, who seem nice enough.

Now to tackle the first day of classes.

Not a bad birthday, all things considered. Perhaps a bit hurried in some ways, but nice anyway. Mostly, I’ve been focused on getting ready to move on the 26th, so I’m pretty distracted and caught up in that.

Got up at 3:45 a.m. to watch a webcast of the eclipse and then promptly went back to sleep half an hour later. Went out for sushi with my family this evening, which was fun. It was nice to see all of my family in one place. There are only four of us, but we’re always running around doing stuff lately and never seem to all be in the same place at once. Got the translation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses that I’ve been scanning used bookstores for forever as a gift, which was great.

Thanks to everyone who wrote me fics and gave me birthday greetings! I really enjoyed all of them! You guys are wonderful!
